TGI Fridays in collaboration with Summercliff introduced a Facebook application to promote its new Ribs menu with 3 new sauces. The promotion was released under the title ‘RECOMMEND & WIN’.
The main focus of the promotion was to encourage TGIF fans to recommend the RIbs menu to at least 5 Facebook friends and win a prize in return. The Facebook promotion rewarded all participants with their choice of a free dessert or a free cocktail.
The structure of the application included a complex, multiple invitation mechanism for the friends of the participants. Sharing on Facebook was also part of this application.
The promotion was supported with an aggressive yet targeted Facebook advertisement. This exciting campaign created a viral response on Facebook seen by thousands of users.
