Through a Scratch & Win Card campaign, McDonald's restaurants aimed at boosting sales at its restaurants nationwide during the World Football Cup 2010 period, and at the same time collecting a valuable OPT-IN database of its customers for future promotional activities.
With every purchase of a Big Mac Meal from McDonald's, customers received a Scratch & Win Card for an opportunity to win instantly McDonalds products. Each Scratch & Win Card had a unique code which customers had to register by SMS and therefore enter the draw for the 2 travelling packages to the World Football Cup Final 2010 in South Africa. Summercliff was responsible for the flawless operation of the competition by providing the infrastructure for the short code and IVR.
McDonald's Restaurants, through this unique promotional campaign, offered the chance to the public to win instant prizes and 2 travelling packages to the World Football Cup Final 2010 in South Africa through the scratch & win cards. Entry results were remarkable over a period of 1 month, while a valuable updated OPT-IN database was created. The campaign also resulted in a significant increase of sales throughout all the McDonald restaurants nationwide.
